Marcia has worked with thousands of teachers, children, and parents across the nation as a classroom teacher, consultant, and coach in early childhood centers and elementary schools.

Results That Speak for Themselves
She co-created and directed a national research-based and result-driven training organization providing professional development in teaching strategies for both parents and educators in early childhood center, kindergarten, and state literacy programs. Through multi-million-dollar projects, this organization reshaped teachers’ practices, remade classrooms into productive learning and play environments, and provided hundreds of thousands of quality book collections and literacy tools. Marcia co-led a team that created the Mrs. Bush’s Story Time radio shows, a unique four-year collaboration with First Lady Barbara Bush which aired on ABC Radio Networks nationwide to promote reading aloud and family literacy.
Marcia was also instrumental in creating and raising funding for a city-wide organization in Providence RI which had built comprehensive early literacy systems including professional development, literacy training for parents, librarians, and early childhood educators.
During all these projects, Marcia has worked with educators, politicians, corporate and organization funders and has deep experience training scores of parents and caregivers to fulfill their roles as their children’s first and most important teachers.

Marcia is a gifted educator who has profoundly impacted our children, Isabella and Edward’s development from age 3. Marcia has been an invaluable asset as we navigated the waves of parenting our first child. She's helped us, given advice and incubated a love for reading in our daughter that we know will stay with her for life. There are a lot of tough decisions when you're raising your first kid but Marcia made the choice to read to her early and often one of the easiest.
Marcia has worked with our family since our first daughter was born. She gave us valuable insight into how we could promote literacy and a love of reading in our child from day one. We started reading to Grace the day she came home from the hospital and used Marcia's guidance to progress our techniques over the years. Grace is now in Kindergarten, loves books and reading, and is excelling in her school's bilingual literacy curriculum. We now get the privilege of using this guidance with our son as well. Marcia has shared fantastic books with us over the years that are not only engaging for our children but also promote diverse characters.
